EDJI CHILDREN’S PRIVACY POLICY

LAST UPDATED: June 7, 2018

This children’s privacy policy (“Policy”) describes how Edji, Inc. and its related companies (“Edji”, “us”, “our”, and “we”) collect, use and share personal information of users of the website located at Edji.it and the services offered through the Site (the “Services”) who are under 13 years of age, or if residents of the State of California, under 18 years of age (“each a “Child” and collectively “Children”). Edji provides an online service designed to allow Reading Owners (defined below) to create Readings (each a “Reading”) of questions or topics using text or Images(each a “Reading”) and share the Readings with anyone they like. The audience with whom the Readings have been shared can then respond with text or audio annotations (each a “Comment”). A “Reading Owner” is a subscriber of the Services with the administrative right to create, invite, manage, moderate or delete a Reading. This Policy does not apply to websites or mobile applications that post different statements. This Policy does not apply to users 13 year old or older, except for residents of the State of California who are under the age of 18; such users should refer to the Edji Privacy Policy available at: guide.edji.it.

COPPA. We are required under the Children Online Privacy Protection Act (“COPPA”) to obtain verifiable parental consent in order to collect, use or disclose personal information from Children. If you provide such consent, you have agreed to the collection, use and disclosure of your Child’s personal information in accordance with this Children’s Privacy Policy. IF YOU DO NOT PROVIDE SUCH CONSENT, YOU MAY NOT ALLOW YOUR CHILD, AND YOUR CHILD IS NOT AUTHORIZED, TO USE THE SITE OR SERVICES.

A NOTE FOR SCHOOL USERS. In accordance with COPPA, schools, school districts, teachers and other educational institutions (each a “school”) may act as a parent’s agent and can consent to the collection, use, and disclosure of your Child’s personal information on your behalf. By engaging Edji to provide the Services, your Child’s school provides such consent. This Policy does not govern any school’s collection, use, or disclosure of your Child’s personal information through the Site or Service, and we are not responsible for any such collection, use, or disclosure. Parents, please contact your child’s school to understand the school’s privacy practices. To access, change or delete information collected by your Child’s school in connection with the Site or Services which cannot be accessed, changed or deleted as described in this Policy, please contact the school directly.

  • When your Child joins a Reading, we may collect your Child’s first and last name and email address.
  • If your Child tell us where he or she is (e.g., by allowing the mobile device your Child is using to send us his or her location), we may store and use that information. If you want to deactivate this feature, you can disable location services on the device your Child is using, or deactivate GPS on the mobile device.
  • We retain information on your Child’s behalf.
